I'm like a little kid again
Well I have been doing all kinds of different things over the past year or so. I worked an extra part time job in a warehouse while I worked full time. I ended up losing my regular full time job. I worked part time for Canada Post and still do. Now I have begun a training program with a transit company and I got to spend my first day behind the wheel of a highway coach. Holy cow was it ever fun. I really got a huge kick out of it, it's almost hard to believe that I am going to be paid to do this. I really hope that this excitement and thrill stick with me, it's really nice being in a positive place.

Drivers licenses and lineups
So some of you might know my birthday is rolling in very soon. Well it happened that I needed to renew my license this year. I have an upgraded license so I needed to do a written test as well. So I try to remember what happened 5 years ago when I renewed it then and I remembered I had to go back and forth a few times as I started at the licensing office first and not the testing centre (yes a stupid setup thank you provincial government). So anyway I am going to let everyone know of my horrid experience of being at the testing centre. Well for started I hate lines and I'm not fond of crowds. I figured an hour and a half should be plenty of time to get in and get out. Man, was I wrong.... So I get in there and I have to line up to find out where I need to be. Well I get my info and they give me a ticket to wait with and to go take a seat. I find the only seat that has an empty seat on each side yay me! Well that was all well and good for about 30 seconds. I ended up having some girl from India sit down beside me an reread her driving manual for what looked liked to be the 343rd time and then begin to hum the entire time she was reading. She broke out a bag of chips and continued to read and hum all the while chewing her chips. Oh my lord I thought I was going to thrash within an inch of her life. Very irritating to say the least. So I wait and I wait and when I was done waiting I waited some more I waited for over an hour then I finally get my call to come to a wicket for all of a 10 minute process, then off to the testing area to get my test which took a whopping 2 minutes to do followed by 15 minutes of waiting for the mental midgets to mark it. Two hours I lost of my life waiting to get my license renewed and I still didn't have it renewed I still had to go to a licensing office to get my license renewed. This is a completely bent process we have to go through as drivers. So in any event I got to be late for work because I didn't allow enough time for the inadequate employees of Drive Test to lounge about and do nothing.

Wow have I ever gotten sucky at this...
I used to blog 3-4 times a month. Now my three readers are lucky to get to read my bitchings (I know it's not a real word) once a month. Well most of you know that I have been under the employ of Canada Post for the past month or so and well things are pretty good there but I don't get as many hours as I would like. So I decided I would try my hand at moving freight that talks.... for those that can't guess it's people as in I will be a bus driver. I have no idea if I have the aptitude to deal with people on a regular basis. I do like talking to them when they are nice, but some days I do feel so much better when they aren't around... So I have an interview with GO Transit in two weeks so we will see what we will see, or maybe they will see what they will see and then ask me.
On a lighter note, I have been decorating since my wife paints like a parkinson's patient with too much caffiene in her system. I have been working on the younger lad's bedroom and it looks quite nice I must say. I still have some touch ups to do and the boarder to put up but I think it will look great when its done. Cars will be the over all theme of the room and no not cars the movie, but cars in general I hate Disney themed movies they wear out too quick. I have been trying to get the eldest to decide on colours and what have you for his room, it's taken a bit to get him to decide but he's decided finally, so I have more projects to do :o)
The eldest and I went to a Lowes "build and grow" thing he built a mini locker. It's pretty simplistic building but it was fun and I let him do all the hard work so he got a real sense of accomplishment from it, so much so that he signed up for the next session to build a tool box. It's really quite cute they give him an apron and he gets a little badge to sew on it after he's done (well mom did it for him :o) ). I highly recommend if you have little ones that are 5 and up to sign them up, they are fun little projects and offer some good dexterity exercises as well as developing self esteem and self worth. Fuck, I sound like a teacher.
Funny thing since I am not working as much my stress level seems to have dropped and I don't get pissed of at the world as much anymore. It's a strange thing not to be irritated by the masses on a daily basis... Dare I say it... I seem happy... ah fuck I ruined it :o)

Well lot's going on...
So there has been plenty of changes going on in my life. I have been looking at different jobs that offer me less stress and more freedom. I am not sure if I am going in the right direction or not but I have aquired a position driving for Canada Post. It's pretty good and I enjoy it but it's getting the hours that poses the problem. So I have also looked into driving a bus for Go Transit. I just went through a bunch of testing and what have you so we will see what happens there... It is frustrating applying to jobs that people see as being safe and secure. Unfortunately you get a lot of well.... les than intelligent people applying for them. But in any event I am doing this for the longterm potential. It's funny how as you get older your priorities change. I am now thinking about pensions and retirement rather than the now...
So far the kids haven't had to deal with much of a change. Well other than me not being able to take them to places like I normally would do in the summer. Me and the wife are getting along well and things are good there too.
I guess you could say all in all I am pretty happy. It's a bit of a strange sensation for me... I like it...

Schools bullies and hats
So last week, my oldest was a victim of bullying. Two kids approached him in the school yard and took his hat and took his jacket off of him. He was wearing the jacket and hat at the time. So Thomas played it like he just lost it and he would just check the lost and found and it was OK. He never mentioned to me that two kids took these things from him until the next day. I asked him the following morning if he was going to be able to hang on to his jacket. He said that he would be able to if nobody takes it from me. So I wonder where the hell are the teachers in all this crap? Why don't they educate the students as to what needs to be done when something like this happens? I am pretty pissed off with the whole thing. Just a big piss off to me.

Frig over a month...
Wow over a month and I post nothing, nada, zero, zip bupkis.
Nice of me huh? I take a hiatus and tell no one... I'm such a selfish prick. Well I didn't take a holiday, just nothing has pissed me off in awhile. I did get a dog recently probably very close to the time of my last post so that may be why I haven't updated, I've been busy cleaning up shit and piss from my carpet. I don't know which is worse kids or a dog...
Dogs are inherently gross... they slobber and make a mess just being what they are...dogs. They like to eat dirt, they have no regard for their own shit, and less regard for anything you don't want shit smeared on. They have no sense of personal space, especially those spaces you consider private. They constantly smell everything and it will undoubtedly involve a cold wet nose (which God only knows where it's been) hitting a spot of warm exposed skin. They do however crave affection and will return it the best they can.
The youngest is getting more and more temperamental which I am not to good at dealing with anymore. My patience runs very thin these days and I am having more of a tendency to snap for the more minor stuff since I am dealing with so much between David and Dyson (the dog).
Thomas is a bloody perfect kid, he is so kind, caring and understanding. He often has me snapping at him when he doesn't deserve it but I always realize it albeit too late but I can at least apologize and we can move forward. That was one thing my dad never did to me was apologize for any wrong doing he did. I wonder does that make me more of a good dad or less? Did his lack of apologies spark me into apologizing more? Meh, not much I can do about it now...
So I guess that is about it that is going on, I have to go to puppy kindergarten tonight with the dog...

Sense of entitlement or are they just rude?
Well I have lived in Brampton for all 36+ years of my existence. I have seen several generations of immigrants come and move in. Many of which produced great friendships for me over the years. At the same time immigrants segregating themselves from the mainstream of the community has perpetrated a "rift" if you will between that group within the community and the community itself.
First a little bit of background for my rant. Brampton is probably one of the quicker growing communities in the province and surprisingly only has one hospital where our southern sister city, Mississauga, has two hospital sites. Brampton has a population of about 450,000 and will most likely breach the half million barrier within 5 years. Brampton had been struggling with it's hospital situation for quite some time and we finally got funding for a new hospital but it was being built with a P3 methodology. Which basically means that there is a lot of private funding put in place to expedite the build process, there is still a lot of government funding but the risk isn't all placed on the government because of the private sector being involved. From my limited knowledge of the P3 formula the reason private investors are willing to get involved is because of the return on investment. So yes you can make money investing in the government.
So, we have a new hospital in Brampton (yay, that's great!) a lot of work went into it (yay, that's great too). The private sector pulled together and got it built faster (yay, that's great). So here is where my inside source comes in. I have heard rumours that an immigrant group had a private wing in the hospital that only had a certain ethnicity of doctors and nurses and only those of that certain ethnicity have access to this wing. Basically that is a two tiered health care system which I believe is against a bunch of laws, I might be wrong. I know there has been a lot of discussion on two tiered health care in Ontario but it has been quashed every time. So I have been hearing all kinds of stories on how this has happened, this group apparently offered 90 million to get preferential treatment at this hospital. Well I went to my source and guess what? It's wrong, yes they offered the 90 million but with the restrictions of the preferential treatment and the group heading the project basically told them to go fuck their "hat". The problem is that the masses of these fucktards think that they are still supposed to get this preferential treatment as their head honchos forgot to mention to the plebes that the deal didn't go down and there is no preference being given.
On to my next rant... I am sick of these people that come into Canada and want to have everything just like they did from their former country. Well if your former country was so fucking great why did you leave? I am tired of people requesting translators to be able to write tests to get government issued licensing. those tests are available in both English and French, that should be enough for everyone. The problem lies in that there have been a ton of driving schools being shut down and investigated because of people taking other peoples tests. So if that is going on what else is that the government has not caught on to yet? There is this sense of entitlement that certain ethnic groups have that is going to bleed Canada dry, they most certainly have started here in Ontario and it's only a matter of time before they come to your neighbourhood... they are a virus and good luck to you stopping them once they get settled... We're already fucked.
Again I have no problem with immigrants they built Canada into what it is, however there are certain groups looking to take it for all it's worth.

Toronto Auto Show 2008
So I head down to the MTCC and Rogers Centre to check out the auto show this year. My buddy got a free pass so we split the cost of one ticket. Well it wasn't much different than the other auto shows I have seen previously. There was a really cool display of some very old Lamborghinis which was very cool to look at. They even had the off road Lamborghini that, in my opinion, was the inspiration for the Hummer. I am always disappointed by the lack of booth girls. There never seems to be enough of them.
So yeah not enough booth girls not enough concept cars and too much of the same old same old...
I did see one interesting thing though. In the Audi display they were letting people sit in the R8 which runs about 170,000.00, I found this interesting as most companies lock up their cars as soon as they breach the 60,000 mark. Sure there are a few that don't but they don't let you touch the expensive cars like the R8. One thing that struck me though was the number of people that would have gone through that car. The bending that would occur to get in and out of it added to the bad food that the Auto show sells I am sure there were quite a few human made wind storms in that little car. I wonder if they have to get the detail shop to clean that stink of ass out of the car after the end of the show...

the great white north...
Well I haven't updated in quite a while... and for good reason too. Some one kicked the extension cord out that was powering my igloo (hence my laptop as well) and I couldn't plug it back in because it hasn't stopped fucking snowing for the past two weeks. Seriously it has been a wicked month for snow fall and my back is feeling every bit of it. There has been two snow days for my wife (she's a teacher) and zero for me. It so sucks working for yourself...
Anyway what pisses me off this week...
Oh I know, I was dropping my oldest off at school and he wanted me to walk him in which I do from time to time when he asks. I normally drop him off in the kiss and ride lane then boogie off to work. So anyway I have to park on the street and since it has been snowing so heavily the last few days the roads are a bit narrower than usual. Well this little bastard shoots past my car and while trying to squeeze between the next parked car and on coming traffic knocks the parked cars driver side mirror off. He doesn't stop and I know he knew he did it because as soon as it happened he took off like some one lit his nutsack on fire. Unfortunately I didn't get his license plate, I certainly would have notified the owner of the car about that. I just hate people like that, they go wreck other peoples stuff then fuck off and don't take responsibility for it. Same thing happened to me not too long ago, luckily I had a good neighbour let me know what happened so I got it looked after.
Another thing that pisses me off is getting sick... I have avoided having any type of cold for just about all of winter until Saturday just past. BAM like a ton of bricks fuck me... It wasn't just me either it was my wife too so we had both kids and both of us being sick all weekend and it was a long weekend to boot, Ontario now has Family Day woo hoo another holiday that small businesses have to pay for... I mean I like holidays and all that but as a business owner I think days like that suck because basically the government is forcing you to either pay your employees a premium to work that day or you have to pay them for nothing. It just pisses me off.
So yeah that's me for today, I'm not pissed off or anything just need to get the stupid shit out of my head...
Cheers

Wanna see the dark side of my moon?
OK I was out with the fam damily over the weekend. My kids do gymnastics and what have you, and we needed to pick up a few things here and there so we zip into a department store and I find these little gems.
See stuff like this just makes me laugh. I mean what woman can't help but swoon at the sight of these bad boys. Not only do they look ridiculous but check out where the trouser snake's doorway is? Well when I looked at the people that were wandering about in that store it did not surprise me one bit that something like those boxers were alive and kicking in there. When we drove in to our parking spot it was being invaded by a woman and what can only be described as Andrew Dice Clay's retarded brother. I mean it was winter and this tool was wearing a thin leather jacket and a wife beater with some goofy assed shades. Just utterly ponderous as to what would make someone dress like that and think, "yeah this is good, yeah I look good." Then on the way out I caught another fellow who looked like a reject from "That 70's Show" This poor fellow was cruising about in his high top basketball shoes, a mullet that would make Bruce Dickenson proud amongst other fashion faux pas.
So anyway on to my Sunday... Sunday was a lazy day for us as a family. The wife cooked a great breakfast and we all kind of just did our own thing. The boys played I surfed the internet and wife watched TV. Noon rolled around and a sumptuous feast of newfie tube steak was had (I opted for normal buns and the rest had crescent rolls wrapped around the little nitrate sticks. After that I opted to pretend to read while I took a nap on the couch. Then once the youngest had awoke from his nap (the oldest and youngest nap in our house) we took off to the sled hills of Brampton to have some winter fun. We trodded out to the sled hills to meet some friends and began the repetitious act of sliding down the hills and walking up them again. Funny thing though... it's amazing how high a 2.5 year old can shoot up in the air when you hid a bump at the bottom of the hill. My littlest guy must have been ejected from the sleds at least three or four times. The tough little bugger still would head down the hill time after time. although he did want to avoid going down for a little bit after one particularly spectacular crash. I forgot my camera, I am kicking myself for it as some of these spills would have been great to capture in either video or in a still... next time. I am sure there will be a next time as the snow looks like it could be staying until next weekend.

Good Greif
OK so it's winter here, guess what it snows. If you live in Canada you should know how to drive in snowy conditions.
So I expect a little bit of delay coming into work today, what normally takes 25 minutes took me an hour and twenty minutes. WTF? I swear if people don't know how to drive in winter conditions stay home, watch Dr. Phil and eat bon bons until Oprah comes on. Stay the fuck out of my way.
The worst offenders are the woman driving SUV crowd. I got stuck behind one and she had one of those weird ponytail things that make your hair go all spiky in a pinwheel kind of design. I am sure there is a proper name for it but I don't care enough to find out. Anyway she is all decked out in her Abercrombie and Fitch duds (is that fashionable anymore?) and her arty style glasses. Well every time the traffic slowed a little she is looking in her SUV for one thing or another putting on lipstick or rummaging through the bowels of her vehicle. Is it too much to ask that you don't preen yourself whilst driving? I was seriously considering doing a YouTube video of this moron showing all the shit she was doing but by the time I realized I had my camera with me she was off onto the highway to cause havoc where I wasn't going.
So needless to say my drive in was fucking horrible. I hate people that drive like idiots...

Moderating comments on my Blog
Yeah I do that, I want to read everything that goes on my blog before it gets posted. Chances are that your comment will make it on here if you are inclined to comment, unless you are one of those butt munchers that post links to spam sites etc. I don't like that shit, it pisses me off, and I had a run in with one of those butt munchers so I opted to have the moderation option turned on so you can thank the little cock knock that ruined it for everyone. There will be no linking of seniors getting boned by mastiffs from my blog... it's just rude.
So anyway where to begin... what the hell was I thinking staying home for the weekends now? I have been so damn busy the past two weekends I don't know if my ass is punched or bored. It's a sad state when you want to go to work so you can rest...
Eldest son states Jan 2 that he wants to take skating lessons beginning January. WTF? do you not know what month it is? So wifey hops online to check out what's what with the local recreation centers and guess what? Not an opening to be had everything is filled up. So she says that's OK we will do family skating every weekend... oh fuck me sideways... I have been skating every weekend and my feet are freaking killing me. I usually take eldest out then get switched over to youngest about half way through which is right aobut the time youngest gives up. He'll only last about 15 minutes which is fine by me... my feet are usually killing by that time. Oh and the friggin Zamboni is a piss off too it comes out like clock work about 2 minutes after we start skating. I swear the nimrods that work there see me and giggle to themselves knowing they will piss me off with a Zamboni trip around the ice...
Coat shopping with two kids and an indecisive wife sucks major ass... it was close to 3 hours of pure hell... we went back to the start and got the coat from the first store... She tried on like 4,000 fucking coats... I know I counted them, I had nothing better to do while I was waiting. So traipsing all about town with two kids who don't do shopping and me who doesn't do shopping with kids couldn't have bee much fun for my wife. Oh well what are you going to do? She needed a coat and I need a lobotomy... at least one of us got their wish. I don't like her coat though it's not fitted enough to show her curves... sigh I guess she does not understand that I do retain information from "what not to wear", sure I may not dress like Clinton (let's be honest unless you are a flamer who would) but I do know what looks good and what doesn't. I'm actually not sure why she brought me now that I think of it, my advice apparently doesn't rate high enough for her to listen to it. Well what are you going to do... there are only so many places where you can bury the bodies before they catch you.
The holidays....
So I spent a lot of time working over the holidays. It wasn't the best Christmas season I have had. I came to the conclusion that spending more time at home is worth more than any dollar figure around. My littlest David saw heard me taking a shower Saturday morning and was banging on the bedroom door.
When I got out of the shower I heard him and opened the door he looked up at me and said, "What doing daddy?" I told him I was getting dressed. He walked in and brought his book with him and watched me get dressed, once I was dressed he took me by the hand and led me down stairs, all the while carrying his book with him. He sat me down at the couch and scurried up beside me and plunked his book in my lap.
"Read book daddy." So I read to him and when I was finished he got up and got another book for me to read. I read that one too. He got another book after the second and this continued for another three books. It was at that point I realized I had missed part of his life because I was working. At some point I was working and he developed a love of having people read to him, I had missed this.
To me reading is the ultimate in recreation. I love the idea of being able to transport yourself into another world within minutes of picking up a book. I love the fact that my 6 year old reads all the time, to miss my youngest developing this would be devastating to me. To not be a part of the development of my boys I realized would be a horrible thing fro me to do.
I am now back to having all of my weekends free... for now anyway :D
